| | How does Email Verification Work? |
| | | For your security, we ask you to confirm the email address listed on your profile is valid. If your email address is unverified, you’ll see a “Email Unverified” pop-up box upon logging onto the site that will prompt you to either have a verification email to your private email address, change your email address, or cancel the process altogether.
If you chose to have a verification email sent, check your private email inbox for our verification email. Click the link provided to verify your email address.
If you change your email address, your membership will be placed into an "Unverified" status and you’ll be presented with the same “Email Unverified” pop-up box the next time you log on. |

| | Can I give other members my "real" e-mail address? |
| | | We do not prohibit the exchange of personal information in your e-mails or when you send a gift. However, since we cannot attest to the validity, integrity, or behavior of any of our members, you do so at your own risk. So, please be cautious and get to know each member you are communicating with before revealing any part of your real identity.
Don't be afraid to ask them things about their past and current living situation. What do you have to lose? |
|
| | How do I get the "real" e-mail address of another member? |
| | | For security reasons, we never provide the real e-mail address to any other member or any organization outside of our site and company. |
|
| | How will another member know if I e-mailed them? |
| | | If your message is being sent to a Member who is allowing notification messages, we immediately e-mail them at their "real" e-mail address to inform them that you have sent them a message. In any event, your message will be waiting for them in their Inbox and marked as unread.
Be patient after sending an e-mail. Sometimes it takes a while for other members to get back online and check their mail. Some members may appear to be ignoring you, but may simply be traveling or on vacation. |
|
| | How many e-mail messages can I send? |
| | | As a Premium member, you may send as many e-mail messages as you like, just as long as they follow our Terms of Service Agreement rules.
Remember, once you send a message and if your Outbox exceeds 200 messages, the oldest of the 200 messages will be moved to your Trash bin and completely deleted in 3 days. Hence, you may only have a maximum of 200 e-mail messages in your Outbox at one given time. |
|
| | Is there a time limit for typing my e-mail message? |
| | | Yes. Because of the nature of Web browsers, if we don't hear from you for 60 minutes (if you have clicked on another Web page, etc..), your session will time out and you will be logged off automatically.
Please do not create messages which will take so much time to produce that you will be logged off before it is ever sent! |
|
| | How do I know if a member has read my e-mail or not? |
| | | After sending an e-mail message, it will appear in your Outbox. If the member has read the message, a notation of the date and time they read the message will appear in the list. |
|
| | How do I respond to another member's e-mail? |
| | | When you receive an e-mail message from another member, simply click the Reply button at the top of the page.
It does not require a Premium membership to reply to e-mail messages from other members. However, Smiles are not considered e-mail messages. You must be a Premium member to initiate contact via e-mail with someone who sent you a Smile. As a basic member you may send them a Smile in response for free, though. |
|
